Jack Ashwood — Head Coach & Founder. CrossFit Level 2, British Weightlifting Level 2, FRC Mobility Specialist, CrossFit Kids Trainer.

Ten years in the fitness industry. Founded CrossFit Bodmin in 2019. The coaching is technical and the team is honest — straight with you about what works, what doesn't, and how to get you there. Whether you've never touched a barbell or you're chasing a PB, we start exactly where you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be fit to start?

No. Every workout is scaled to your current fitness level. Our coaches guide you through every movement and make sure you are working at the right intensity. Most of our members started as complete beginners.

What is a typical class like?

Classes are around 60 minutes long. You start with a warm-up, move into movement instruction or a strength piece, then finish with a workout of the day. Every session is coached from start to finish.

How much does membership cost?

Memberships start from £10 per session and 1:1 personal training £45 per session. No lock-in contracts. Fill out our short questionnaire and we will talk you through the best option during your free consultation.

Is CrossFit dangerous?

Not when coached properly. Every session at CrossFit Bodmin is led by a qualified coach who ensures movements are performed safely and scaled appropriately. We prioritise good movement over heavy weights.

Where are you located?

Unit 2, Callywith Court, Launceston Road, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 2RQ. Just off the A30.

Can I try a class before I join?

Yes — best to drop us a message to get booked in. The coach will make sure we have a plan to guide you through and get the most out of your first session, whether that's a class or a 1:1 to start.

What equipment do you have?

Olympic barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, rowing machines, SkiErgs, assault bikes, sleds, pull-up rigs and everything needed for CrossFit and Fitness Racing training.

Do you offer Hyrox?

Yes — we have a dedicated fitness racing class that covers Hyrox and KeltX events. Sled pushes and pulls, SkiErg, rowing, wall balls, burpee broad jumps, farmers carries and running intervals — built around the stations you'll face on race day.
